2025 Winter Conditions Updates

WAMBA actively maintains groomed winter trails on the Aqueduct Network and the North End of the Mt. Peg network. We’ll drop a Trailforks report each time our trail crew lays down a groom.

PLEASE NOTE: On Mt. Peg Trails, access is free and open for public riding from the Lincoln St and Village Trail entrances. Any riding on Nordic ski trails requires a day pass from the Woodstock Nordic Center. The exception is the crossing between the top of Kent’s Connector and Vernacular, the winter-only link trail connecting to the Village Trail and summit.

WAMBA Winter Riding Guidelines

  • Tires must be at least 4” wide.

  • Tire pressure must be less than 10 psi

  • Don’t ride if the 24-hour snowfall total is more than 6”

    • Allow time for trails to set up after grooming

  • Don’t ride if the temp is 30F or above

    • As a general rule, if you have to get off and push your bike, the snow is too soft

    • Don’t ride if you are post-holing (if your foot is breaking through the snow surface)

    • Don’t ride if you are leaving more than a 1” rut
